Thank you so much for coming to Twin Falls, Idaho. I'm even a bigger fan now! When are you coming back? (maybe don't fly Delta...or drive 119 mph in a 300M, next time request a Chevy Metro...)

The answer to your question, "BUCK" is quite simple. The references made to Kyle's cross-genre influences (that means different types of music from country) are acts who are just as original and influential to their respective type of music as Waylon, Johnny, and Merle were to theirs. No one compared Johnny Cash to Nickelback, or Merle Haggard to Bon Jovi.

Also Johnny, Waylon, and Merle weren't immulating their influences and making a career from copying someone else including the idols they grew up on like Lefty Frizzell and Hank Sr. In fact if you recall Waylon and Bocephus started out doing just that clean shaven with their hair slicked back and it wasn't until they revolted against the mainstream current that they found legendary success as the original outlaws they became. Their music was honest, real, and original and so were they. Just like Nickelback, Coldplay, Bon Jovi, Staind, Chris Daughtry, Ozzy Osbourne, Nirvana, Metallica, AC/DC...(the list goes on and on).

As for your reference to the Ryman crying it has nothing to do with wanting Waylon or Johnny copycats to come along and stand in as the 2nd generation of the legends that have passed. You'll note that if this was the case, Shooter would be a superstar by now, which he is far from. If you listen closely, that's what the Dierks Bentley's, Brad Paisley's, and Jason Aldean's are delivering with their own unique flavor of original music. They're incorporating those voices of yesterday in their own unique style and as a result those influences are still very alive today. The song (You Can Hear The Ryman Cry) wasn't written for the lack of Waylon or Johnny on radio but for the lack of original character and uniqueness in country music today that those legends gave us in their own time.

If you can't make a thought-through postive valid remark on this page, don't leave one at all.

Thanks for supporting Kyle's music.

Now go fix your tractor.

Thanks for covering Guy Clark, that's really fantastic, more people need to hear his work. It's also great that you have a song about the Ryman crying. But c'mon, do you really think you sound any different than any of the other shit calling itself country these days? And for that matter, the legends that roamed Broadway, would they be driving around in an old pick up truck? No, they'd be driving a Cadillac with pearl handled revolver door handles, silver dollar studded interiors and guitar shaped swimming pools. It seems as if your heart is in the right place, but your sound is mired in music shitty muck. I believe in you and I want to see you make it. I want to see you stand proudly behind Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard. But Nickleback? and Bon Jovi? Really? why on Earth would you name check them? How can they even compare them with J.C., Waylon and Merle? Integrity vs. Schlock! Yr soul is in the right place my friend, but the Ryman is crying, and you can, if you want, help dry the tears. To quote the GREAT Waylon Jennings, "are you sure Hank done it this way?" and if not, how do you want to do it? Keep up the good work!
